Meet Bill Corbitt, A Master Grower with Fire in His Roots

For Bill Corbitt, growing peppers isn’t just a skill—it’s a way of life. Raised in a family that believed in the value of hard work and persistence, Bill learned from an early age that what you put into the soil shapes what you get out of it. Those childhood lessons became the foundation for a lifelong passion that’s earned him a reputation as one of the most respected growers in the pepper world today.

Known for his impeccable quality and lightning-fast shipping, Bill has built a loyal following among hot sauce makers, chili-heads, and now, the SpiceQuest community. Every harvest is delivered with care, consistency, and a level of freshness that customers rave about. With over 1,500 pounds of peppers sold annually—mostly through exclusive contracts—Bill now focuses on supplying elite-level heat to serious flavor artisans across the country.

Beyond the farm, Bill plays an active role in the online pepper-growing scene, co-administering some of the largest Facebook groups dedicated to the craft. There, he mentors the next generation of growers, sharing the insights he’s gained over decades in the dirt.

His favorite peppers to grow? The legendary Carolina Reaper, the ultra-rare RB003, and the fiery Scotch Brain.

As chili personality Johnny Scoville once said, before biting into one of Bill’s peppers:
“These were grown by Bill Corbitt. The RB003 is fiercely hot and just spectacular looking… big shout out to master grower.”

We couldn’t agree more. And that's why we're proud to feature Bill's Big Mustard Mama from the 2024 harvest.
