Jeff Remmert is an American pepper grower and breeder credited with creating Deadpool, a modern red superhot pepper prized for its fierce heat and unmistakably gnarly pods. The variety also appears in pepper-growing circles under names such as Remmert Red Deadpool and Remmert Red.

Deadpool

Deadpool produces elongated red pods with deeply wrinkled, bumpy skin and an irregular shape. Many pods finish with a small stinger. Its appearance is a fitting warning for a pepper that lands firmly in superhot territory.

Growers and seed sellers describe a brief flash of fruit, floral character, and light sweetness before the heat takes control. A dry or slightly bitter note may follow beneath the burn.
