You Know the Reputation. Meet the Ghosts.
Ghost pepper has a name people remember. But a name and a number on a heat scale can only tell you so much.
The interesting part happens at the table. The first taste. The heat that follows. The moment you reach for a different grinder to see how it changes the same bite.
The Ghost Kit brings together Yellow Ghost, Red Ghost, and Green Ghost in three prefilled SpiceQuest push-button grinders. A focused collection for people who want to spend a little more time with a pepper they thought they knew.
One Pepper Family. Plenty to Explore.
If you’ve met our No. 5 Ghost Pepper, “Phantom Fire,” you already know where this fascination begins. Ghost has a place in the wider SpiceQuest collection. This kit gives it the whole stage.
Set the three grinders beside the same dish. Explore each pepper separately. Pay attention to the aroma, the flavor beneath the heat, and what stays with you after the bite. Then bring your favorite back to dinner tomorrow.
You don’t need a tasting vocabulary to enjoy it. Curiosity and a light hand will take you a long way.
Three Ghosts, Side by Side
Yellow Ghost | 350,000–500,000 SHU
A golden counterpoint in the collection. Give Yellow its own first bite, then return to it after trying the others. The invitation is to look past the familiar ghost pepper name and discover what this particular pepper brings to your plate.
Red Ghost | 400,000–550,000 SHU
The red expression holds the highest listed heat range in the trio. Take your time with it. A tiny amount on a familiar food gives you space to explore the pepper as well as its intensity.
Green Ghost | 300,000–450,000 SHU
Green brings another question to the table: which ghost will you reach for again? It has the lowest listed range of the three, with plenty of heat of its own. Make it your starting point, then revisit it as you get to know the collection.
Our peppers, our heat ranges. These labeled Scoville Heat Unit ranges are informed by lab testing of our peppers. Heat varies between harvests and batches, so we use ranges rather than a fixed number. The ranges overlap; portion size and the food you choose also shape the experience.
The Grinder Is Part of the Experience
With peppers this powerful, how you add them matters. The SpiceQuest grinder puts a small, deliberate addition of chili at your fingertips. Hold it over your plate, press the button, and grind directly onto the food.
- Spring-action control. The push-button mechanism lets you add chili in small increments. Taste, pause, and decide whether your next bite needs more.
- One-handed operation. Pick it up and press. An easy motion at the stove or around the dinner table.
- Ground at the moment of use. Dried chili flakes stay in the chamber until you’re ready to grind them onto a meal.
- A protective chamber. The enclosed, light-blocking reservoir helps protect the pepper from light and air between uses.
- Stainless steel construction. A durable, corrosion-resistant tool designed for repeated use.
- Refillable by design. The head twists off for refilling, so the grinder stays in your collection long after its first fill.
Each ghost has its own labeled grinder. Keep them together, pass them around, and let everyone at the table explore at their own pace.
Make Dinner a Tasting
Start with something simple: three small portions of roasted potato, rice, or a favorite dish you know well. Add a tiny amount of a different ghost to each.
Taste slowly. Give the heat time to develop before adding more or moving on. Notice what you enjoy, then try that pepper on another meal: noodles, tacos, a bowl of stew, or something fresh off the grill.
The best discovery might be a favorite pepper. It might be a favorite pairing. It might be realizing how much there is to explore within one familiar name.

For the Person Who Wants to Know Which Pepper
Some people ask whether dinner is spicy. Others want to know what made it spicy.
This is a gift for the second kind of person. The curious cook, the SpiceQuest collector, the friend who tastes something interesting and immediately wants another bite. A box to open together, then keep within reach of the next meal.
The Ghost Story Continues
Ghost pepper runs through more than one corner of SpiceQuest. Our standalone No. 5 Ghost Pepper is a way to explore “Phantom Fire” on its own.
For another branch of the family, meet Chocolate Ghost in The Chocolate Kit, alongside Chocolate Habanero and Chocolate Reaper. “Chocolate” refers to the peppers’ dark coloration. Chocolate Ghost is a separate offering, beyond the Yellow, Red, and Green trio in this box.
The Ghost Kit gives you three expressions to live with, compare, and make your own. Where you take the story next is up to your palate.
A Few Things to Know
How hot is this kit?
All three peppers deliver serious heat. This collection is best suited to people who already enjoy hot peppers. Start with a tiny amount and allow the heat to develop before adding more.
Is this hot sauce?
It’s dried chili pepper, ready to grind directly onto your food. Each grinder keeps one pepper separate for tasting and everyday use.
Why do the heat ranges differ from general ghost pepper figures?
Published figures refer to other samples and growing conditions. We use the ranges on this kit’s labels, informed by testing of our own peppers.
How does this fit into a SpiceQuest collection?
Pro and Classic explore a broader selection of peppers. Matchbook brings together different grinder sizes for cooking, the table, and travel. The Ghost Kit is a closer look at ghost pepper through three expressions, each in its own refillable grinder.
Three ghosts. A place at your table. Plenty left to discover.
